Minnesota Twin closer Joe Nathan is standing by at the hospital, awaiting the birth of his child. Nathan says he will monitor the Twins game, and will drive to the park if a save situation arises.
This isn't Game 7 of the World Series. The season isn't even a week old. Shawn Green skips games in October for Jewish holidays. Roger Clemens stays home to coach his kid's little league games. Manny Ramirez skips games to go to the spa at the Ritz Carlton.
Joe Nathan....do the right thing and stand by your wife's side. There will be plenty more save opportunities. But, how often do you get to experience the birth of one of your children?
