Core Carrying Members

There are stories surfacing that iTunes is getting ready to offer a subscription service for iTunes. The rumored offering would cost $129/yr for unlimited access to half of the iTunes store.

Assuming the deal doesn't include other benefits, would you subscribe?

It will be interesting to see if Apple packages subscriptions with devices. For instance...$249 for an IPod. $299 for an iPod including a year subscription to iTunes.

It's still a bad deal, because iTunes music is still encoded to keep you from transporting it how you please -- say to a different computer or as many devices as you wish. If they sold these songs in MP3 or a similarly open format, I'd pay the $130 tomorrow.
