When Your Mom Joins Facebook

I was kicking around my Facebook page today when I noticed one of my mom's friends in the 'People You May Know' section. Crash. Bang. That's the sound of my worlds colliding. Forget the possibility that my mom will be inspired to join Facebook herself. If my mom's friend requests to be my friend on Facebook, I have no choice but to accept the invitation. And when I do, she will have a full view into my friends, photos where I've been tagged, fan clubs I belong to, wall conversations, etc. etc. etc. This information will be passed on to my mom faster than Usain Bolt.

I can hear it now. "Andy...who is this Joanne? I didn't know you were friends with a Joanne. And what is all this poking you've been doing? Didn't I bring you up right? How come I haven't seen these pictures of you in Las Vegas?"

Serenity now! Serenity now!

Friends, colleagues, Internet acquaintances--you may be getting a hi5 invite from me in the near future. Please advise.

Also, my wife says you can toggle some "limited profile" options to keep your mom's friend from seeing your ding-dong in that one picture from the beach.
